Pacquiao vs. Mayweather rant

This fight has many side bars, the first being, MONEY. If it doesn't make dollars, it sure as hell won't make sense. Floyd is asking for a 65/35 split...he knows he won't get it, but it is a fair place (at least in his mind) to start. By time this deal is done we are looking at some sort of amicable 45/45 break down with the final 10% going to the victor...( I have heard through a good source that the 10% may be donated to various charities..from both camps), that to me would be a great thing and actually help boxing make a solid comeback. A comeback that is needed, due to the antics as of late in the boxing world.
The second side bar will be the usual fare (venue, referee, gloves, ring size etc.) this, believe it or not is sometimes the hardest aspect to solve. Every trainer has an idea of what he thinks his fighter should have. If this disagrees with the other camp, well then your at square one all over again. So give that area at least a good month to get ironed out and solved.
Another big factor will then be the weight...Pac is sure to say 145..Mayweather's camp will go no lower than 147. Manny will have to say 147..there will be no getting around that. That doesn't mean he has to hit 47, he will come in at 144 or so. Floyd will easily cut the weight to 147. Here is the problem. Floyd on the night of the Marquez fight was reported to weigh 155..that is an 8 pound increase over night. The same will be expected in the Pacquiao fight. Manny will come in fight night at 145 or so..Floyd will have an easy 8-10 pound advantage...so look for the Pacquiao/Roach corner to ask for some amenities here.
As to the fight. As I see it. it is a favorable match up for Manny. Floyd and Manny are equally as fast in hand speed. The difference IMHO lies in the foot speed of Pacquiao and the ability to use that food speed to create angles of opportunity to throw barrages of punches that come from blind angles. In the Cotto fight Manny kept him at bay with strong rapid fire right straights...this backed Cotto up..Manny would then angle off at a 45-degree angle and throw the left hook (the enganyo)..Cotto reacted to the left hook and opened his left gate allowing Manny to see it, pop his hips back and drop a slamming right hook on Cotto's chin, dropping him like a sack of cassava. This to me is the difference. Floyd is fast but he is only so so with his feet. Why, because he is always back pedaling. The back pedaling defensive rolling works against aggressive fighters with no speed. Pacquiao is an aggressive fighter with both speed and power..hence, the back pedaling plays right into the hands of a man who out throws you 2 to 1...and has power in both hands, a chin of iron and SPEED that kills. Now I know Manny will have to eat some punches to get in. He will definitely get busted up. But...Floyd Mayweather can't crack an egg at 147 let alone drop or even hurt Manny. If Cotto couldn't fade Manny's whiskers, Floyd damn sure wont.
My prediction
Pacquiao KO over Floyd Round 7....I got a gut feeling Floyd is gonna get his cherry popped...Hard, fast and bloody!

BOXING SUCKS.
Your higher than a three peckered billy goat Aaron..LOL....Boxing is a great sport..and in this fight it will be showcased to the highest levels. The top two fighters of their eras..both fast, both with pop, both with skils beyond belief...gonna be one for the ages.
Alot of people prefer MMA nowadays..to me MMA is as boring as watching paint dry...Guess I'm just old school.

i used to be a huge boxing fan, and frankly i'm very interested in this fight... looks like it's set for march 13th... but i think that mma is the next natural progression in fighting and i find the different skills sets refreshing... watching a boxing match nowadays is just not interesting.... bring back prize fighting and pay the loser nothing and i'll start watching again/.

To each their own...I think MMA and boxing can co-exist....I just find that in MMA there is the upper echelon guys who are world class and then everyone else. In boxing you have countless guys that are world clas per division in MMA I just don't see that..plus the various sanctioning bodies keep the best MMA guys from fighting...Fedor in a different Orginazation than Lesnar..Faber in a different organziation..Aldo..Leites etc....it seems the MMA world needs to bring everyone back together under one roof so the top fights get made. I also prefer boxing because of the KO's....watching guys layon the ground, playing for position to sink a choke get's my channel changed quickly..as does that laying on the cage stuff..that to me is boring.
K-1 is also some good bone crunching action.....

i personally like boxing better, because like back in the day, every fighter had their own unique fighting style when they went into the ring (kempo, karate, kickboxing, etc.) It used to be that way too with cage fighting, but the fighters in the ufc and others like it, all seem to have the same fighting techniques nowadays. The only difference i see is some are good at grappling, others are not, etc. K-1's different though, that right there is on a whole nother level, imo, because the fighters are allowed to do so much more. Either way, the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight is going to be awesome!
Here's the 7 time world champ on Jimmy Kimmel Live.
He's a movie star, a recording artist, and he's gonna be running for a government position in the PI in may '10.

True boxing does have to many sanctioning bodies and far to many divisions. On the other hand it does make the ebst fights with the best fighters as opposed to MMA. Dana White is trying to runa a monopoly..and in his opinion if your not UFC your not shit. Some of the best fighters in the world reside in other organizations.....Fedor, Brown, Faber, Aldo....Jaquere..et.etc.etc....the reason why Easy, Dana White is a son of a bitch to work for..hence the exodus by guys like Leites, Henderson etc.....the best fights are not even in the UFC..they reside elsewhere, n other sanctioning enterprises. Dana White is the Jose Suleman of MMA..and sooner or later he will either have to bend or he will be broke..because he is not bigger than the sport, but he dang sure thinks he is.....

that part is true, UFC in the earlier years was the best. It was all about guys that wanted to kick ass and prove that their style was the best. Now we have to many Terrel Owens out there that think they are bigger than the sport. why cant they just shut up and fight?
