Tandy has all sorts of stuff.  I think they might be called the leather factory now though.

I second the advice from Horan Knives. That is where I used to get my stuff when I got started many years ago when it was called Tandy Leather. Now it is called Tandy Leather Factory and they are in most major cities. Good luck with your new project.

A good source for hardware is a company called OHIO TRAVEL BAG. They have all types of fasteners and gear. www.ohiotravelbag.com
