I have been seriously considering purchasing a traditional bow. This is a skill I want incase society falls and we all end up on our own.

I hunted with a recurve till I was about 24-25. I have been shooting a compound now for a while and think its time to go back to the recurve.

im actually in the process of getting a recurve bow off of a friend right now... technology is nice but its best to go traditional and learn instinctive shooting rather than rely on all the spiffy gadgets they have nowadays... it really makes me think of the people that go camping and take an rv fully loaded with tv and dvds and such, its just not camping

My buddy just got a sweet wooden re-curve bow. I was jealous to say the least. Now I have my eye out for one. I would prefer a long bow though. Anyone got one they want to sell with a 30" draw length?

I am using a recurve. It's an Impala made by Ragim (imported by PSE). It's a take down which enables me to have multiple limbs. I have 40#, 45#, and 50# limb sets. I shoot it instinctively. The only "accessory" I added was a quiver on the side. I hunted it for the month long over-the-counter archery deer season here. Hunting here is a learning curve do to to the open spaces. By the time that I relearned everything I had forgotten about stalking and bought a pair of boot silencers (damn gravel) the season was over. The good news is I am getting back to TN by DEC. I should have success there as long as I do my part.
I like the recurve. It's simplicity makes it fun.
